“Jewell”, Arabian, mare, 7-10 Years Old
Proven mother and may have been exposed to colts prior to her arrival. She doesn’t like other mares and she’s not crazy about the boys. With training could make a good horse. Loves to be with you and loves to be groomed. She came to the shelter with a Sarcoid Tumor on inner right leg. It is still being treated but it is not contagious to other horses and no longer spreading. “With a name like mine you can see why I love to be the center of attention”.

“Rainstorm”, Thoroughbred mix, 2-3 Years Old, colt
Old gaskin injury – now healed. He needs to be gelded. He has a laid back, relaxed personality and loves to be groomed. Rainstorm will pick up all four feet. He loves to be around people – very social. Good project horse – not very big. Peek A Boo’s baby. “Just love me and I’ll love you back”.

“Fay”, Thoroughbred, mare, 25ish
Fay raced at Long Acres as a three year old. She has a tattooed lip. She has a laid back personality. This horse was in the worst shape of all but her many body sores have all healed. She has had lots of babies. Fay needs find a retirement home but she loves attention and grooming. Fay needs to be on a special diet of orchard grass and beet pulp. “Just because I’m old doesn’t mean I don’t like to kick up my heals once in a while”.

“Skip”, Quarter Horse mix, Gelding, 21ish
Laid back, relaxed and loves to be groomed. Would make a good kids horse. He has been ridden but not in a while. His feet were in the worst condition when he arrived but they’re getting better. With time they should return back to normal with no permanent damage. “Just cause I’m old I still have lots of good years – are you the kid for me?”

We’ve been told he was gelded as recent as 1 ½ years ago. He needs a lot of one-on-one with an experience handler. His feet were also in poor shape but with no long term issues. He likes to be the pasture boss and has a dominant personality. “With the right person I could really be somebody”.
