Pets listed on our website may have arrived at the shelter as strays.
We post them as adoptable dogs and cats in hopes of finding either their owners or finding them a new home.
Please check out these animals if you are missing your pet.
*Please note that the pets online are only a small
percentage of all pets at the Humane Society.

You are welcome to walk through the kennel areas at any time. For safety reasons children are not allowed in the kennel area without an adult.
-
Before you can handle (that is, pet, cuddle, walk, and get to know) any animal you’ve seen, you will need to take the paperwork hanging on the kennel to the front desk and complete an application so we can assist you in finding the right pet.
-
Once the application has been completed you will meet with a knowledgeable member of our staff who will fill you in on the traits and needs of that particular animal and answer your questions.
All adoptions are done on a first-come, first-served basis, and the first properly qualified prospective home will be allowed to adopt. Adoption fees vary and you will be required to purchase a license if you live anywhere in Kitsap County. The adoption fee includes the following:
Please come visit our shelter and meet our guests. We are open for adoptions seven days a week (except holidays) from 10:00 to 4:00. When you find your new companion get ready for unconditional love.
SENIOR’S FOR SENIOR’S
Emotionally, pets can bring new meaning and purpose to the life of a senior. The unconditional love and commitment to their owners is almost like therapy. They can act as friends & entertainers. Having a pet in an elderly person’s life can offer them a sense of well being, a sense of encouragement, and even a reason for living. Being responsible for another life often gives new meaning to the lives of those who are living alone or far from loved ones. Caring for and providing a loving home to a companion animal also helps elderly people to remain active and stay healthy.
The Kitsap Humane Society has a program called “Senior’s for Senior’s”.
